The district LG has today hosted officials from Prime Minister's office who have come to follow up relief distribution in the district. How relief items were relieved & distributed to the beneficiaries, and challenges encountered by the district during distribution. The district team highlighted the following challenges among others;  Lack of resources & funds for loading and offloading relief items to the affected communities & lack of resources basically for assessment, & implementing disaster related interventions & implementation. The district team requested for decentralization of the contingency fund to manage its own disasters timely.  The official pledged that that when challenges are fully identified, govt, will find ways of supporting districts to reduce community vulnerability.
